Letter to the Editor: #4

Have you ever wondered where criticism comes from? Whether on the receiving end, or dishing it out like business cards at a networking event.

Is it a genuine desire to share sagacious advice? Or perhaps a personal dig? Splash of jealously thrown in too?

We live in an age whereby criticism is hastily thrown away as “haters gonna hate”, or “they just don’t get me/it”…

The next time you receive criticism, stay neutral. Don’t take it personally, nor should you pop it in the recycling bin.

Neutral.

The next time you give criticism, don’t make it personal. Stay objective.

See if it keeps any ill feeling at bay.
