Here’s a snippet from a book that I’d highly recommended:
Life is not always a smooth ride. Landscapes change, people come in and out, obstacles appear and disrupt the planned itinerary, but one thing you know for sure is that you will always have yourself. Fear is not an option. Don’t dwell on the dark side of things, but look for the light and build around it. If one door closes, look for another one to open. Never, ever, blame others for what befalls you, no matter how horrible it might be. Trust you and only you, to be responsible for your own life.
The Woman I Wanted to Be (Diane Von Furstenberg), was a gift from a Soul Sister, when it was published a couple of years ago. As an avid reader, I was excited to sink my teeth into it. A quick search online shows mixed reviews. Yet, as mentioned, it’s worth reading. If you wish to have insight into what to do (and not to do) at times of chaos and crisis, joy and triumph, it’s useful. She also goes into detail about the importance of looking after ourselves (treatments etc), life, love, running a successful-then failing-then successful business, being a mother, wife, and boss. Nobody truly has the answer of how to juggle all of these things, yet she comes rather close.
Ultimately, of course nothing beats good ol’ intuition. Always trust your gut!
